Adult Program

Unwind and get creative at our monthly adult coloring time. Join us each month for a relaxing hour of coloring, conversation, and calm. We’ll provide coloring pages and supplies, or feel free to bring your own. No experience needed—just drop in and enjoy a little peaceful, screen-free fun.

Meet together with other local writers for manuscript critique and for support. Prepare a five-minute section of a manuscript to read, then receive comments from group members with the aim of strengthening your writing. Please bring copies of your selected pages for group members. Open to adult authors of all genres. April 2 meeting will be in the Quiet Reading Room. April 16 meeting will be in the Periodical Room.

Celebrate Poetry Month with an unforgettable evening of verse at the library! We are honored to welcome former Kentucky Poet Laureate and WKU Professor Emeritus Joe Survant alongside local poet Larry Pike for a special poetry reading. Enjoy an inspiring selection of original works, followed by a lively question-and-answer session moderated by library staff. Whether you’re a lifelong poetry lover or simply curious, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the power of poetry right here in our community.

The book selection this month is The Dressmaker, by Kate Alcott. It is a novel about a spirited young woman who survives the sinking of the Titanic only to find herself embroiled in the tumultuous aftermath of that great tragedy. Pick up a copy of the book at the library, read, and join the group for discussion.
