DESCRIPTION:Calling all creative builders! Each month at the library\, students in grades K–12 are invited to take on a brand-new LEGO challenge. Whether you’re a seasoned builder or just starting out\, this program is all about imagination\, hands-on fun\, and a little friendly competition. \nThis month’s theme is Library! During the session\, participants will have time to build their creations based on the theme. Once complete\, builds will be displayed in the library for the community to admire and vote on throughout the month. The builder with the most votes will win a fun prize! \nRegistration is required\, and all materials will be provided—just bring your best ideas and your enthusiasm. Join us each month to sharpen your creativity\, explore new challenges\, and show off your amazing LEGO talent!

DESCRIPTION:Homeschool Hangouts is a weekly homeschool enrichment program for students in grades 1–12. Each month\, we’ll explore a different subject through mini lessons\, hands-on projects\, and creative experiments. Join us in the Community Room on Thursdays from 12:00–1:00 PM to learn\, connect\, and discover together! \nSCHEDULE FOR APRIL – LITERACY (IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK) \nApril 6: Genre – Learn about different book genres as we create crafts inspired by genre. \nApril 13: Author Visit & Scavenger Hunt – Join authors Jenna and Maddie Reed for a virtual reading of “Library Trip” from Recess in the Living Room: Poems from the Homeschool World\, followed by a fun and interactive library scavenger hunt. \nApril 20: No Homeschool Hangout – There will be no program this week due to the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale. We encourage families to stop by\, shop the sale\, and support the library! \nApril 27: Book Awards – Discover how book awards work and design your own medal to honor your favorite book. \nFor more information\, contact Savannah at sortega@weldonpubliclibrary.org or call the library and ask to speak to Savannah. \nOnline registration is required.
